Orville Murphy, Founder, Facilitator
Please meet Orville Murphy, Founder of Homeland America and Trainer/Facilitator of the "Concepts of Safety" workshops and seminars. Orville's employment background in human resources for emergency services caused him to identify the crucial need for MORE than just the average safety training that is currently being marketed today. Orville's energy and humor challenges his students to respond with heightened interest and motivation regarding safety training for the workplace.

Orville's training and knowledge of safety matters is multi-faceted. He currently serves as Fire Chief of the Board Camp Volunteer Fire Department in Board Camp, Arkansas. He earned his certification as a Fire and Emergency Services Instructor through the Arkansas Fire Academy, Southern Arkansas University, in Camden, Arkansas.

Orville worked for the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, during 2004-05, record years for hurricanes in the Eastern United States. He assisted in the development of the Outreach Initiative through Region 3 DHS/FEMA. while working as Branch Chief in the hazard mitigation division. He was instrumental in developing the outreach program for disaster victims in the state of New York. He has led the cause in setting up emergency outreach services in many other states.

He has also set up and opened emergency shelters during heavy storms and power-outages, assisting citizens seeking food and shelter. He has taught disaster preparedness classes to school-aged children and senior citizens. His common-sense approach is basic and understandable for any age group.

After September 11, 2001, Orville developed yet another seminar, his popular P.O.W.E.R. program, and he authored a book, "The Light Across America", which addresses terrorist threats and natural disasters with common-sense solutions.

Orville received recognition for his dedication to humanitarian efforts in the wake of disasters from U.S Congress, as well as from State and City officials.

Orville is also a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Germany during the Vietnam Era.
